Orb

The Orb was a concentrated Blacklight Core that once contained the dormant spirit of Ruaumoko. As such, it became a direct link to the Warp (in the same manner as a Gate, though without a set destination), thus giving it the potential to allow Demons, Titans or even Whiro himself to pass through.

The Orb was eventually destroyed by Helena Diamond.

Creation[]

Normally, Blacklight Cores like this are used to power Gates, enabling travel to and from Arsinos and Outland. However, during the final battle with Ruaumoko and the Outlaws, Masher modified one of these cores to absorb Ruaumoko's power into himself. He was unaware, at the time, that he had just created a dangerous gateway to the Warp.

Ownership[]

The Orb has passed from person to person many times, before its eventual destruction.

  • Upon his return to Devil's Crag, Masher reclaimed his throne and transfered Ruaumoko's spirit into the Orb.
  • The Orb was then stolen by Cayden, who released Ruaumoko and restored his full powers.
  • Cayden later traded it to the Outlaws again (in return for Anderson's finger), who gave it to Moriarty in exchange for Morena's freedom, whom Moriarty had taken hostage.
  • The Machine God stole the Orb off Moriarty, and used it to power his physical body and create the first Goliaths.
  • After his defeat, Felix Masher takes the Orb after betraying the Outlaws and Cayden, revealing himself to be a Black Angel. He tried to use it to summon Whiro to Arsinos, but Whiro was defeated. Felix, and the Orb, disappeared into the Warp.
  • The Orb re-appears from the Warp in the hands of an unknown human on a distant planet, who later plans to give the Orb to Drevonia during the Black Ball, in return for power and influence. It is stolen, however, by the Dark Avengers.
  • Ruaumoko convinces Helena Diamond to destroy the Orb, which she does.
