Raised on the outskirts of Kalopsia buy his middle class parents, he has a solid family background. His father was a member of AAC’s police force and received more than one commendation for bravery during his service. His mother was a proud house wife and took great pleasure in the role and in being an active member of the local community. Matt also had a twin sister, Morena , who was his younger by 20 minutes (a fact he used as his excuse for everything). Despite constant bickering the two were incredibly close.
Matt's keen intelligence carried him easily though medical school and onto a carear as a medical research scientist.
After recieving news of his sister's death in Northrend, he found himself sharing his grief with her then 'fiance' and, although niether man even slightly likes the other, they formed a reliance on each other. On arm of Matt's is dictated to him but in return any funding he requires for any research of his own is guarenteed. Matt saw it as a way to pay his respects to his sister in the only way he knew how, by supporting the man he assumes she loved.
